transformed.

Phrase of the day: Yo me di cuenta... (I realized)

hmm... it's starting to warm up!;-) I actually had to take my sweater off during school today!;-) It felt so good. I don't know if I told you either, but in Peru, all of peru is covered with a fog during the winter so... you can't hardly tell what is Lima and where the ocean is. But today things started to clear up. It was so beautiful. I didn't really realize that I was THAT close to the ocean. I mean, it takes 30 minutes in a car, but that's because the roads are just super crazy and the traffic is terrible.

But it was definitely cool. It's weird to experience weather in a country that only has 2 seasons;-)

Went to the track today, rode a combi home by myself like a pro, and finished the day reading my bible and listening to hillsong. I gave my spanish bible away so throughout the day I go back and forth between my Spanish Bible (for little kids;-) and my english bible. I'm hoping to buy a new Spanish one soon;-)

Reading in Deuteronomy right now about God and the commandments and how if the Israelites would remember what He had done from them in Egypt and obey his commandments, that He would destroy all the enemies that lay out in front of them.

I find a lot of peace in that for myself too.

This is part of what I read... in a life of business I always need to be reminded of this... to always be watching for idols in my life.

Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them. 17 Then the LORD’s anger will burn against you, and he will shut up the heavens so that it will not rain and the ground will yield no produce, and you will soon perish from the good land the LORD is giving you. 18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, 21 so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.

I don't know if you have something in your life that you give too much time to. I know that this is something Peru has allowed me to realize-I gave way to much time to useless things in the United States. God has blessed me with life, and choice. I choose to do with my time what I want. So if I said in the U.S. that Christ was my all in all... why wasn't He? It makes me think about what I'll think of my life right now 5 years from now.

Always check to see if you are in the faith. Always stay in the Word. And always put Him BEFORE you.

Blessings,

Lucas

  1. Good insights! My thoughts exactly! WHY do we do the things we do? FOR Him, or FOR us and we ask Him to bless them as an after-thought? Or is it FOR HIM because He has led us to this, prepared us for the moment or situation, and has gone before us and acts also as our rear guard? Isaiah 58:8, His blessing of protection, etc. seems very much to be predicated upon OUR ACTIONS, i.e. "THEN your light will break forth", "THEN you will call and I will answer!" etc. Anyway, I'm rambling, the Word of the Living God contains such Power for us; tap into it guys! Love you Lucas! Anthony
