Get this for awkward...

Holly opened up for one of my favorite artists of all time last night... SHAWN MCDONALD. If you haven't checked him out, do. So we are currently in Idaho, but that's not what I'm here to talk about ;-)

Get this for awkward, we just realized I'm not going to see my brother Clark for 1 1/2 years. He is leaving on Thursday for a 6 month discipleship training/mission trip with the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) organization. This is probably the strangest circumstance I will ever be in. Not only is Clark leaving Thursday, but Holly is leaving for her tour tomorrow and won't be back until almost my graduation!!!:-0 Maybe this will make being homesick even easier for me; I don't leave my siblings, my siblings leave me. Kind of like a gradual descent of comfortable companions around me? Let's hope that's the case.

I was reading this morning in Numbers about the Israelites 2nd Passover and how they celebrated it. It wasn't so much the rituals of the passover that got to me, but the second half of chapter nine entailing the cloud that covered the tabernacle. (Number's 9:15-23) If you don't know, the cloud represented God's presence, and the tabernacle contained what is called "The Holy of Holies." When the Israelites moved from place to place, it was the Levites responsibility to transport the tabernacle. So how did they know where to go?

The Cloud.

The Cloud (God's Presence) would move, and the Israelite's would move. It would settle, and they would settle. "So it was always: the cloud covered by day and the appearance of fire by night." Whether it stayed for days, months, or longer, the Israelite's trusted and followed where the Lord led them.

So how does this have anything to do with me, or you for that matter. Well, God is calling us each to settle in different areas of our lives, for me (HollyStarr's merch boy, student at WVC, track athlete, exchange student, etc....). But we can't just settle, once we settle. ;) We need to continually seek and see if God is calling us on.

For now, God has called Clark to settle in Hawaii, Holly (well, just in the general U.S. somewhere), Camille as a teacher in Ephrata, and me in PerĂº. Clark's cloud appears to be settling for around 6 months, mine for a year. And it isn't the time away from him that I am afraid of. It is the fact that God is calling my family to different sides of the world for some reason, and I don't know what that is. But my goal is to be like the Israelites, to move where God moves... and not ask questions.

Blessings,

Lucas

...He isn't finished with you...
